Now is the time to pick up your tickets to our 3rd Annual Big Band Grandstand with Dewey Gill. Join us at the historic Turner Hall Ballroom as we travel back to 1966's Las Vegas via the music of "Sinatra & Basie at the Sands: A Tribute to the Men and Their Music." The Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra will open the evening.
The evening will feature craft cocktails from Bittercube, an assortment of food from Braise Restaurant, and a the room will be dressed by Props Unlimited to create the feel of 1960's Vegas! Additionally, WMSE's 3rd annual gala promoting big band jazz and the Milwaukee music community, will also include a silent auction with dozens of locally-made items and experiences.
All proceeds raised at the event will go directly towards our continued efforts to digitize the vast vinyl collection of WMSE and Dewey Gill, in addition to maintaining and updating WMSE's Live Jazz Stream.
Thanks to our generous partners, we have dozens of items to be auctioned off throughout the night, including a tandem sky dive with Skydive Milwaukee, a variety of whiskeys from Great Northern Distillery, and a Milwaukee Blacksmith class.
We are also bringing back the "Gift Card Tree," which includes over 50 gift cards to local Milwaukee businesses and we're adding special raffle prizes.
The funds raised from the silent auction also go to support WMSE's jazz preservation project.
