Speaker: Fidel Verdin
Milwaukee native Fidel Verdin is a self-taught artist who teaches at several schools and after-school programs, and also is a hip-hop artist who performs under the name Viva Ferdin. He combines his passions to help Milwaukee’s youth discuss issues affecting their lives. Ferdin co-founded the Summer of Peace, a city-wide, one-day youth rally to recognize young people doing good things in the city. In his talk, he’ll be discussing the politics of violence in Milwaukee and its impact on young people.
