Placing Items on Reserve
Please review the General Copyright Policies for Protected Materials on Reserve to ensure the materials you place on reserve are compliant with Copyright Law.
Classroom copying needs to comply with the "Agreement on Guidelines for Classroom Copying in Not-For-Profit Educational Institutions With Respect To Books And Periodicals". The "Agreement" is reproduced in Reproduction of Copyrighted Works by Educators and Librarians, which is available at http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ21.pdf
A direct link to the "Agreement" is available at http://old.cni.org/docs/info.policies/NACS.html and on several higher education library sites.
Copyrighted items may not be placed on Reserve for more than one quarter at a time unless permission has been obtained in writing from the copyright holder, in accordance with Copyright Law.
After reviewing reserve information, please complete a Reserve Request Form.
Please allow time for processing reserve requests. Print reserves may take up to 3 business days before the items are available to students. Electronic reserves may take up to a week before they are available to students.
Accessing Reserve Items
Items placed on Electronic Reserve are only available to students enrolled in the course.
Print reserve materials are kept behind the circulation desk, and can be checked out with a valid MSOE ID.
Removal of Reserve Items
After the end of each quarter, print reserve items are removed from the reserve area. Reserve items owned by faculty members will be returned. Electronic reserves will be unavailable at the end of the term.
Usage statistics (the number of times a reserve item circulates) can be supplied at the faculty member’s request.
The Library reserves the right to change these policies at any time.
